Mount Snowdon
This past weekend six of us set out for the summit of Mount Snowdon. With it's zenith sitting at 1,085m (3,560ft) above sea level it is the highest point in the British isles, outside of Scotland.
An early start began with light showers and spectacular scenes as the low laying clouds clawed their way over the peaks and down into the valley below. As we continued the clouds moved in and gathered solely on our target. The last stretch towards the top was thick with fog and views from the summit stone were none existent. Occasional breaks in the cloud gave us fleeting glimpses of what would have been fantastic scenes. Those views will have to wait for a return trip perhaps.
